Key Club

Mission Statement

Key Club is an international, student-led organization
that provides its members with opportunities to provide
service, build character and develop leadership.

Key Club is a student lead organization for high school students as part of the Kiwanis Family.

 

The first key club was formed in Sacramento, California during 1925 by Kiwanis members  Albert C. Olney and Frank C. Vincent, who wanted to make a junior club version of Kiwanis at the high school where they were administrators. the club was comprised of 11 key boys at their school and thus caused the club to be dubbed key club.

Today Key club is the largest student lead organization for high school students around the world. 

The Minarets High School chapter of Key Club was charted on November 17, 2011.

 

Since its inception, the MHS Key Club donated over $7000 dollars to numerous charities, like Unicef, PTP (Pediatric Trauma Program), and others.

 

Over the 11 years, Key Club has been at minarets students have achieved over 7,000 hours of community service and that number is continuing to grow.

The Minarets Key Club is a Student Leadership Program of the Sierra-Oakhurst Kiwanis Club.
